This week Slovenian Forestry Institute hosts the Combined Expert Panel Meeting on Foliage and Litterfall / Soil and Soil Solution / Deposition / Working Group on QA/QC. On Wednesday, April 10 2013, there were three lectures on ring test for soil, deposition and foliar. At the end of the day, Richard Fischer, one of two editors, presented the participant of the meeting the upcoming book »Forest Monitoring, Methods for terrestrial investigations in Europe with an overview of North America and Asia«. Among many authors, many are also present at this combined meeting, are also dr. Urša Vilhar and Daniel Žlindra, both employed at Slovenian Forestry Institute.
On Wednesday the combined meeting started with three lectures on ring test for soil, deposition and foliar. Before lunch participant of the meeting visited GIS research plot, which is financed by project EMoNFUr - Establishing a Monitoring Network to assess lowland Forest and Urban plantation status in Lombardy Region and Slovenian. The plot is located behind the Institute. Dr. Mitja Ferlan also presented his monitoring device for soil respiration. In the afternoon the participants, nearly 50 of them were divided in two groups, first for expert panel on soil and soil solution and second for expert panel on deposition.
